We fight we break up, We hug we make up.

First off, I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update this blog, I feel terrible but life has gotten in the way as of late (and honestly I've just been a bit of a slacker). I know this is long overdue, so without further adieu:

My friend Anel took this picture for me, with his amazing camera (it's like a spy cam!) He has a blog of his own that you should check out where he takes amazing pictures from all over the city. http://adzphotos.blogspot.com/

In this shot, the couple was fighting and the boy just walked up to the girl and hugged her tight to make up. Anel said it was really cute and took quite a few pictures but this one was my favorite because it captures them so perfectly outlined by this tree. They also seem to be in nature (like a forest) by the way he took this shot (even though it was taken on a campus in Tribecca) and this couple has somehow stolen a bit of privacy in this makeshift getaway. It seems natural for these two to come back to one another, after all love is the stuff that life is made of, like the roots of this tree...

Cafe kisses

This is a great one, I was walking by this cafe and saw these two kissing through the window, so I went over and asked them if they would do it again so I could take their picture. They thought about it a minute (who was this crazy girl asking for them to kiss through a window?!), and I told them about my blog and said it was totally fine if they didn't want to, but they were game- hence this pic. It was such an authentic romantic moment that I hope I captured here. They were a really sweet couple with wonderful smiles. :)

Tatoo'd Love

This man's tattoo immediately caught my eye, I thought it stood out especially because it's A.) awesome and B.) an interesting contrast to the scene. I always picture tattoos as giving someone a rough edge, so I loved his his arm around his wife and their adorable baby in her frilly hat. It goes to show there are no stereotypes in love, delicate fits perfectly with edge!

The Callie FIles

This is a series of my friend and her dog, the cutest 110 lb puppy I know, she's a total cuddly mush and the center of all of her family's world, love is truly surrounding this puppy at all times. I love her myself so I get it, she's irresistible and even the most hardened of hearts melts around Callie. Thanks Julia for sending me all of these pics. Callie is more like a beloved sibling to Julia, and her sister Lauren, then a pet and you will see the 3 of them together in the first picture, it's total sister bonding time. Here's a great example of puppy love, and sibling love, at its best!

Now and Then

This couple was literally just hanging out, in between trees, it reminded me of a simpler time often represented in novels when the author grew up in the south; of a young couple on a swing outside of someones house or falling in love over a summer romance when people would flirt and hold hands, a more innocent time. It also reminds me of the movie Now and Then, the scene with Roberta (Christina Ricci) and Scott (Devon Sawa) when they kiss outside of her house.

The Happy Family

Sorry I haven't posted in a week, I've been away for the holiday enjoying the beautiful change in weather. Let's hope it lasts for when there is nice weather out, there are more happy loving people to take pictures of!

This pic is of an incredibly adorable family, just hanging out and walking along together, a nice example of familial laid back love.

Love is at the CENTER of us All

While walking in the park and thinking about love I came up with the following:

Love comes in all shapes and sizes,

all colors and forms.

It doesn’t always come in a pretty little package.

Love can be messy and love can be hard,

but in the end it’s worth it

because love is at the CENTER of us all.

The Intertwined Couple

I love how free their bodies are with one another, like 2 pieces of a puzzle, they just fit.

On a park bench one spring day...

This couple was super cool and caught my eye with just how comfortable and in-sync they seemed. I loved their laid back style and think the Kombucha and Converse sneakers add the perfect finishing touches.

Your daily dose of Love an Intro

On love…

I’ve been thinking a lot about love lately, probably because it’s spring time, the birds are singing, the trees are blossoming and all that good stuff. Today I had the brilliant idea that if I was so interested in love, there must be other hopeless romantics out there who feel the same way. So, I decided in very un-Shannon-like form to start a blog where I take pictures of people in love and post them here for your general enjoyment.

This whole idea was a stretch- could I really approach a perfect stranger and ask them if I could take their picture for this blog I'm starting about love-would they think I'm crazy? My roommate didn't seemed to think so, she views me as pretty non-threatening looking and figured people would be just fine with getting a little attention, and boy was she right. People loved the idea and were all too happy to let me snap them in all sorts of ways.

While on my love/picture mission I started realizing that love can be represented in so many ways and in so many moments, it’s amazing what you see when you are actually looking out for it; the way a man looks at his dog, a mother running around with her toddler, the two little girls giggling and trying to share one scooter, or the couple who innocently kiss through the window in the CafĂ©. These moments were very surprising and refreshing for me and I hope I've captured
them in a way that will be refreshing for you too.

The object of this blog is to give you something each day to smile about and to look for more love in your own life, the more you appreciate it and encourage it, the more it will flow in your own world as well. There will be pictures of all different types of love, sibling, friend, significant other, puppy, you name it.

On a side note, I am by no means a professional photographer, I am a girl with a pretty decent camera who likes to take pictures but knows nothing about proper lighting and photo speed so keep that in mind, and don’t judge too harshly. ☺

If you have a picture of you and a loved one or a picture you think represents love and you'd like me to post it just send it to me with a little description to yourdailydoseoflove@gmail.com.
