On love…
I’ve been thinking a lot about love lately, probably because it’s spring time, the birds are singing, the trees are blossoming and all that good stuff. Today I had the brilliant idea that if I was so interested in love, there must be other hopeless romantics out there who feel the same way. So, I decided in very un-Shannon-like form to start a blog where I take pictures of people in love and post them here for your general enjoyment.
This whole idea was a stretch- could I really approach a perfect stranger and ask them if I could take their picture for this blog I'm starting about love-would they think I'm crazy? My roommate didn't seemed to think so, she views me as pretty non-threatening looking and figured people would be just fine with getting a little attention, and boy was she right. People loved the idea and were all too happy to let me snap them in all sorts of ways.
While on my love/picture mission I started realizing that love can be represented in so many ways and in so many moments, it’s amazing what you see when you are actually looking out for it; the way a man looks at his dog, a mother running around with her toddler, the two little girls giggling and trying to share one scooter, or the couple who innocently kiss through the window in the Café. These moments were very surprising and refreshing for me and I hope I've captured
them in a way that will be refreshing for you too.
The object of this blog is to give you something each day to smile about and to look for more love in your own life, the more you appreciate it and encourage it, the more it will flow in your own world as well. There will be pictures of all different types of love, sibling, friend, significant other, puppy, you name it.
On a side note, I am by no means a professional photographer, I am a girl with a pretty decent camera who likes to take pictures but knows nothing about proper lighting and photo speed so keep that in mind, and don’t judge too harshly. ☺
If you have a picture of you and a loved one or a picture you think represents love and you'd like me to post it just send it to me with a little description to yourdailydoseoflove@gmail.com.
